Yes, it is NOW possible to install custom firmware on your PSP-3000. How? You just need to have a PSP-3000 with 5.03 official firmware (or ofw for short) and below. How? Proceed to install 5.03 GEN-A via ChickHEN hack.
The 5.03 GEN-A is enabled via the ChickHEN hack from Davee. Using the TIFF Exploit discovered earlier by MaTiAZ, Davee found a way to use that with his new Kernel exploit to allow homebrew on all PSP’s. That includes the previously thought unhackable TA88v3 motherboard found in PSP-3000’s and some newer PSP-2000 units. After installing the ChickHEN Homebrew Enabler, you then install 5.03 GEN-A over it.

As you read above, if you have a PSP-2000 with a TA88v3 motherboard, you can have the 5.03 GEN-A custom firmware installed. If you’ve not sure what motherboard you have, check out the CFW compatibility guide.
