Having a good download manager on your Android phone is always helpful when you’re not near your computer. Because at times when you’ve to download a file that’s big or in some cases not supported by the phone’s browsers, a download manager comes handy. Also the new download managers ─ that I’ve added in this new list ─ have advanced features which gives boost in download speeds by breaking files into multiple parts (like IDM).
A stand alone download manager for your Android phone also gives you more flexibility in downloading files. You can pause/resume downloads which is very helpful in downloading big files. It’s also helpful when your connection breaks and download stops, as links that supports resuming would reconnect with the help of a download manager and continue downloading the file from where your phone stopped it because of break in connection.
I’ve also included a bonus app in the end of the list. The app would help you to refresh your network connection, because you know, sometimes when you’re downloading a file and your phone’s network connection breaks ─ Bam! your download breaks. That sucks, I know. So use that little app given in the end of the list below to refresh your weak 2G/3G connection.
I’ve tried my best to pick the best of various download managers available in the Android market, but if you know of any other great download manager that’s not in the list below, then please let me know by leaving a comment on this post. Enjoy!
